OH I DO LIKE TO BE BESIDE THE SEASIDE!
Everyone is invited to the spectacular Beach Ball to celebrate the return of the much loved Erewash Beach! The award-winning Erewash Museum is throwing a celebration of all things summer to commemorate the grand opening of the Erewash Beach. The Beach Ball takes place on Saturday 23 July from 11am-3pm while the beach itself will stay open for the entirety of the summer holidays. Admission to the beach, the Ball and the Museum is free.
“It is fantastic to see the Erewash Beach return after several years of absence due to the pandemic. The Museum always organises fun and unique events for the borough and I think the Beach Ball is set to be one of their best ever! It’s a wonderful opportunity to get the family together and celebrate the summer in a way we have been unable to for years now”

GOODBYE LONG EATON EXTRA
We are sorry to announce that this will be the final issue of the paper version of the Extra. We ceased publication of the paper twice during the two Covid lockdowns and published the paper online. Unfortunately sales have not returned to previous levels. This combined with a downturn in advertising has meant we can no longer keep publishing the newspaper. However we will continue to put the paper online and you can keep up to date with local news by googling LONG EATON WEBSITE EXTRA. If the situation changes in the future we will consider putting the Extra back into print. We would like to thank all our readers who have purchased the paper over the last ten years, and all the people who have advertised with us since the demise of the Long Eaton Advertiser. The first edition of the paper was published in black and white and was printed by the Office Way on Derby Road, Long Eaton, priced 20p.

LONG EATON UNITED ANNOUNCE LEAH GRANT AS NEW WOMEN'S FIRST TEAM MANAGER
BY BRADLEY
WHITE
Nick Dargan said: “we are delighted to welcome Leah to the club.
Both Jim Fairley and newly appointed head of women’s football Colin Eastwood
have worked incredibly hard along with first team captain Annie Taylor to
secure Leah’s appointment which will take place with immediate effect.”
Jim Fairley added: “with Colin’s help we have now established a
strong, integrated women’s set up and a genuine player pathway at the club. The
introduction of our new development team will give excellent support to the
first team and we are all really excited for the start of the new season.
Leah’s appointment will enable us to build on the great work
done by former manager John Bennett in developing our senior side and all at
the club would like to thank John and wish him well for the future”
