COUNCIL TAX DISCOUNT

There is a massive £150 council tax rebate about to be given to households across England on September 30th. This will automatically be applied to council tax bills of people who haven't yet had the money or have not got in contact to apply for it. There is no need to panic if you have not yet received the cash to aid in the cost of living crisis as you do not need to do anything. This will be an automatic discount applied to all council tax bills that are still waiting for the money.

TRENT COLLEGE FAMILY FUN DAY

Age UK Derby and Derbyshire holds a Family Fun Day in the grounds of Trent College annually. As usual there will be lots to entertain the whole family. Children can enjoy face painting, nature trail, bouncy castle, crafts and other fun activities on the day. There will also be stalls to wander around which will be selling handmade gifts and home décor. Cream Tea, Hot Dogs, Doughnuts and plenty of other treats will be available too. We are pleased to have Arabesque Dance Academy join us again to showcase their fantastic dancing as well as Long Eaton Family Martial Arts Academy who will be doing a Taekwondo demonstration. SERVICES FOR HM QUEEN ELIZABETH 11

There will be church services held in Ilkeston and Long Eaton on Sunday September 18th, the eve of the State funeral for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Mayor of Erewash, Councillor John Sewell, and the Mayoress will be attending a service at St Laurence Church in Long Eaton at 5pm. The Mayor will deliver a reading.

In Ilkeston there will be a service at St Marys’ Church on the Market Place at 6pm. The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Chris Corbett, and the deputy Mayoress will be attending.

TEENAGER FOUND

Derbyshire police have issued an update on the whereabouts of a missing teenager Freddy Lewsley. The fourteen-year-old went missing on Friday, September 2nd and concerns were raised. He was believed to have connections to the Long Eaton area. Following an appeal on social media, Freddy has now been found safe. Officers from Derbyshire police have now thanked members of the public for their help in finding the teenager.
