A blaze at Harrington Junior
School, in Long Eaton, was attended by 50 firemen. The fire started at 12:10pm on
Thursday 28th May. There were no pupils in the building at the time.
Nearby
Derby Road was closed in both directions, causing delays to some bus services. Two
firefighters were taken to hospital but their injuries were not serious. Police
attended the scene. Many of the buildings were destroyed in the blaze.
