Top hits by tribute acts covering Gary Barlow and Michael Buble along with sing-a-long classics from Elvis ‘The King’ Presley will be helping get the party started when the popular Summer Sounds returns next month.
The family-friendly event takes place on Sunday 24th July and will celebrate its 12th year. It is expected to draw a big crowd again in the scenic setting of Victoria Park, Ilkeston. A Soul and Motown show is also lined up, while there will be activities for children running alongside the music. The afternoon is free and does not require booking. The Mayor of Erewash, Councillor John Sewell, and Mayoress Mrs Rose Sewell, will officially open the event at 3pm before the entertainment gets underway at 3.10pm and will close with the Elvis tribute between 6pm and 7pm. Councillor Carol Hart, Leader of Erewash Borough Council, says:
“I am so pleased
to see the return of our Summer Sounds event. It is a fabulous afternoon for
families and a wonderful opportunity for the community to get together in in
the lovely setting of our Green Flag park. I have no doubt everyone who attends
will have a wonderful time.”
