People will be
encouraged to Visit Erewash as part of an Erewash Borough Council led project. The aim of the project is to boost the profile of Erewash
and its existing attractions, including the promotion of its outdoor trails. The scheme is one of a number of projects being rolled
out by the council over the next two years following a successful bid to the
Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund. Erewash is thought to often be overlooked as a
destination for day trips from the surrounding areas of Derbyshire and
Nottinghamshire. The council will be researching and running a marketing
campaign to promote the borough’s rural leisure and recreational attractions
and realise its potential as a day trip destination.
Councillor Bryn Lewis, Lead Member for Town Centres says: “Erewash is home to many quality visitor attractions as well as some beautiful green spaces, countryside and waterways, such as the Erewash Canal, Bennerley Viaduct and the Nutbrook Trail. This campaign will shine a light on these places and inspire more people to visit and enjoy everything our fantastic borough has to offer.”
