WEDNESDAY “NISA” OPEN MATCH
VENUE: LAKE TWO

Report:
Another good turn-out for the Wednesday Nisa Midweek Open on Lake Two, and once again the weather remained reasonably kind by staying dry except for a little, barely noticeable drizzle. It was a moderate and variable W/NW wind and mainly dull and cloudy.
The payout was to the overall winner and the (default) top two on each bank (A and B).
For the second successive week, it was peg A18 that produced the top weight, this time Mark Marriott taking the top spot with a creditable 117-13 of carp on a day when the lake fished under par. Mark secured his first Nisa Open win fishing the method feeder, on which he caught carp steadily throughout the day.
John Adamson (peg A12) filled second place with 104-04 of carp. Again, the method feeder did the damage, with most of John’s fish coming during the middle part of the match, pellet bait proving best. This took first place in the A bank pool.
Tony Lamb (B19) was third overall and first in the B bank pool with 80-10. He had a few smallish fish on the method feeder, and after he failed to catch on the bomb and pellet, he switched to the pole in his margin which produced big carp to boost his weight.
On A10, Paul Slatcher struggled to catch anything until the last 90 minutes, when the carp appeared in his margin in 15” of water. Feeding micros and corn and fishing double corn on the hook, he caught fish until the end, weighing in with 76-09 for fourth overall and second in the A bank pool.
Paul Reynolds (A14) in fifth place narrowly missed out on the prizes ending with 73-07, which he caught mainly on the pole and pellet, but adding a few on bomb and pellet, with Ryan Ansel taking sixth place with a pole and margin caught 67-07 from peg A20.
The final money winner was Ricky Arms who managed 58-11 from B15 for seventh overall and second place in the B bank pool, in his last match for a while as he will be undergoing long-awaited surgery. Best wishes for a speedy recovery Ricky.
Many thanks to Rob Lowe for his excellent scales work.
