ST CHADS CHURCH WILNE CLEAR UP

On Monday 7th August instead of enjoying their usual meeting, members of The Rotary Club of Church Wilne and friends came to the assistance of Rev. Gary Dundas, who had asked the club to kindly help with an environmental project. Using their arboreal skills they shaped six lime trees at the front of St. Chads. In addition to this extensive pruning, the front wall was cleared of ivy and other creeping foliage. After the tasks were completed the club enjoyed a BBQ within the Church grounds. President Nigel Roberts and Rtn. Martin Dowey worked tirelessly to provide sustenance for the hungry work party.
Speaking at the end of the event, Rev. Dundas thanked the Rotary Club of Church Wilne for all their hard work and observed, “ It’s amazing how much can be achieved when friends come together and work hard for a couple of hours.”

Report:

Considering that the match was fished at short notice (the Lake became available as the Railways National required less space than anticipated) there was a decent attendance.  In spite of the High pressure after a long period of Low, the lake fished quite well with weights caught from all areas.

John Adamson on peg B17 fished method feeder to the island and caught mainly carp weighing between 2 and 9 pounds plus 27-08 of bream for a total of 162-01 to win.

Nick Weed (peg A11) fished method feeder early in and then the pole in the margins later for his second-placed 141-01, pushing his brother Shaun Weed (peg B15) into third place. Shaun, on peg A15 fished pole and pellet throughout the match, short and in the latter stages in the margins for his fish.

Last week's winner Daz Shaw drew peg B21 and fished method feeder to the island and then pole in the margins for his fourth-placed 131-02. Many thanks to Rob Lowe for his superb scales duties.  There will be no match next week (16th August), with the next match scheduled for Wednesday 23rd August on Lake Two.

NB.  Nisa Opens are held every Wednesday on Lake Two at Makins Fishery (see Facebook "Nisa - midweek open matches" to book a place).
